Team Defianz Racing DTUSDC is a powerhouse of innovation and engineering, representing Delhi Technological University, New Delhi. As Asia's oldest Formula Student team, founded in 2003, we proudly lead India in automotive ingenuity, being the first to pioneer self-driving car technology.
With a diverse and skilled team of over 40 members, we design and build high-performance formula-style cars, competing at elite events like Formula Bharat, FS UK, FS Germany, and others. Our cars embody precision, creativity, and a relentless drive for excellence, reflecting our legacy of over two decades of engineering brilliance.

FORMULA STUDENT
"Formula Student" is the world's largest engineering competition. It is the most established engineering competition, founded by automotive, electrical and software industry titans.
There are currently over 600 teams from universities all over the world competing with their self-built race cars. The race isn’t won by speed alone; it’s earned through a blend of engineering excellence and strategic brilliance, in terms of construction, performance, financial planning, and sales arguments.
The Formula Student Electric is the result of years of development of the competition and is ideal for preparing students for the ever-changing requirements of working life.

Competition Structure
Formula Student is divided into distinct classes; Combustion, Driverless and Electric. At competitions each car competes separately and is judged in two types of events, Dynamic and Static.
Static events allow the team to demonstrate their knowledge behind the development of the cars and test industry skills such as entrepreneurialism, financial acumen and the holistic engineering design process behind the cars.
Dynamic events are the culmination of the design process, testing the performance of the cars in a variety of scenarios. These events require more than just the quickest car; they are a test of reliability, efficiency and driver skill.

MECHANICAL
Designs and manufactures the chassis, suspension, bodywork, and aerodynamics, ensuring structural integrity and optimized performance for electric vehicles.
ELECTRICAL
Develops the electrical systems, including battery management, wiring, PCBs, and sensors, focusing on power distribution, energy efficiency, and safety in electric vehicles.
POWERTRAIN
Focuses on the electric drivetrain, including motors, inverters, and energy recovery systems, ensuring efficient power delivery and maximum performance
for the EV.
SOFTWARE
Develops and conducts research on making the car driverless whilst managing data analysis to optimise the performance of the electric vehicle
